About Our Business
Happily Ever After Florist & Gift Shop began in 1995 when Shari Sutherland
relocated to Bloomington from Springfield and opened up in the big white
house at 408 E. Washington. She remained at that location until 2000 when
she and Dave Marley hooked up professionally and romantically. Dave spent
the previous 8 years in the wholesale floral business but in 2000 he bought
out Shari's business partners and they moved the business to 102 N. Center
in Downtown Bloomington and renamed it Shari's Happily Ever After.
Downtown construction and deterioration over the next 5 years prompted yet
another move. In October of 2005 they became the only real florist on
Bloomington's east side by moving to 2303 E. Washington on the corner of
Veteran's and E. Washington. Dave and Shari married in 2001 and live
Happily Ever After with their four cats.
Shari is an award winning 20 year Master Designer and an Illinois Certified
Professional Florist. She oversees all designing and ordering of only the
highest quality floral products. Dave handles all the office duties and
personally makes all deliveries during non-holiday times.
